What ElevenLabs does
ElevenLabs turns your manuscript into narration, roughly one credit per character. Its Studio lets you set voices per character, fix pronunciation across the book and add sound effects.
You can publish on its own ElevenReader app and send the book to Spotify and other partners. Check each store's AI narration rules before you upload elsewhere.

What does not
- ✗Commercial use needs a paid plan
- ✗Long books need higher tiers for enough credits
- ✗The audiobook page says nothing about ACX rules
Our verdict
For many indie authors the choice is an AI audiobook or none. ElevenLabs has the most complete long-form tools of the options we checked.
